We get asked this so many times, and it's a good question: How do you stick photos into a photo album?
To be honest there are lots of ways that work really well and it's is so much easier to do than you think! Here are a few guidelines.
1) How do I organise my photos in a photo album?
Start by having a good look through the photos you've curated and think about the order of your photo album. Are you going chronological, are you going via a theme eg. places you went, wildlife you saw, people you met, or are you going to do before an event, different elements of the event and then behind the scenes of the event? Put your photos into piles once you know your plan.
2) Should I stick my photos in portrait or landscape?
Think of the page: do you have more landscape or portrait photos and how are they going to be orientated on the page of the album? Lay them out on the page before you stick so you know what the page is ultimately going to look like. Do you want to write next to the photos? If so then make sure to leave room :)
3) How do I actually stick photos into the album?
There are plenty of different ways to go about this but our recommendation is double-sided tissue tape for a quick, easy and clean solution. The tape is really strong and works a treat - you just place it one the edge of the photos, peel off the back and press the sticky side down onto the page. It holds photos really securely in place and is invisible.
4) Are there any other options?
Absolutely. Other possibilities include glue dots - which are are good but can be quite pricey - or mounting squares, which can also work well but are less reliable for larger photos or photos that aren't 100% flat.
5) What's a really creative way of sticking photos into my album?
If you're creative and want to make your album totally unique, I've seen people make amazing photo albums using washi tape - there are some lovely ones here. Also, have a good look for inspiration on Pinterest. One of our lovely American customers sent us pictures of one of our photo albums made up and it looked incredible, with poems stuck in, dried flowers, photos etc! The effect was brilliant!
